FULTON, MISS. (WCBI) – A Northeast Mississippi sheriff says a tip last week on a cold case led investigators to abandoned wells, but no sign of a Tremont man missing for seven years.
It was Thanksgiving week in 2008 when 18 year old Jamie Wright was last seen in Tremont.
Investigators determined Wright was in a wooded area and apparently got into a car with someone, and he hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
Last week, a tip led investigators to some land in Tremont, and Itawamba County Sheriff Chris Dickinson says no solid leads were found at that time.
“No human remains were found, in one of the wells we looked into, there was obviously drug activity, that went into that well, which led us to believe we could have been searching in the correct place because of some of the witnesses or the alleged witness we may have,” Sheriff Dickinson said.
Sheriff Dickinson says all possible leads in the case are looked into. Anyone with information on the case should call the Itawamba County Sheriff’s Department at 662 862 3401 .
