AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — Cooperation is key in law enforcement. That is the driving force behind the Monroe County Law Enforcement Officers Association. Members from the county’s law enforcement agencies and judicial system meet regularly to share information, and develop strategies to improve law enforcement in the county.
Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says the organization is off to a promising start: “Right now we’ve got about six agencies that are here from different branches of judicial and also law enforcement. We are just proud of the turnout that we’ve had. We’ve got some twenty-five here today, and looking forward to more people coming.”
The group tries to meet the third Tuesday of every month, schedules permitting.
