Video: ICC Softball Making History In the Rankings & On the Diamond
FULTON, Miss. (WCBI) — ICC is in unchartered waters in their softball program’s history.
Head coach Adam Kirk has continued to bolster a roster that has risen the Lady Indians to No. 10 in the latest NJCAA Softball Rankings, which is their highest position in school history.
Speaking of the roster, 13 of the 20 players for coach Kirk played their high school softball at area schools and are now doing work in Fulton.
Former New Hope Lady Trojan Kaitlin Bradley currently leads the team at the dish hitting at an exception .506 clip. East Webster’s Mamie Hollenhead and Pontotoc’s Alex Brown aren’t far behind at .488 and .448 respectively.
And the leaders on the circle are Kossuth’s Carleigh Mills, who leads the team with 50 strikeouts to go along with a 9-1 record and a 0.92 ERA. Not to be outdone, Tishomingo County’s Katlin McDuffy also boasts a 9-1 record with a 0.92 ERA on the circle.
ICC is now (21-4) overall after their sweep of No. 19 Northwest on Wednesday. The Lady Indians will host Pearl River on Friday.
