Fulton, MS (WCBI) – People had a chance to get a haircut while helping a well known children’s hospital.
An event called “Cuts for Kids” was held in the Tech Ed. Building at the ICC Fulton campus. Stylists from New Albany’s “The Mane Touch” hair salon, offered haircuts for ten dollars to the public.
All money raised will go to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital. Tina Jordan, of “The Mane Touch” hair salon saw a bigger turnout than expected.
“We were figuring the other day, if all of us could do at least ten a piece, that would be a good amount. Looks like we’re going to definitely do more than that.”
“Cuts for Kids” was organized by Miss ICC, Makel Hutchins, who has worked as a volunteer for years for the hospital.
“My platform is 1 2 1 The movement. It stands for 1 person 2 change 1 life, so today I’m trying to get several people involved so several people can change that one life. Because at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, every penny collected helps a child in need so you really are making a huge difference.”
Makel also encouraged local businesses to donate door prizes and snacks for “Cuts for Kids.”
