Video: Human Rights Campaign Celebrates Marriage Ruling in Tupelo

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Groups are celebrating the high court’s ruling across the country and in north Mississippi.

A small group of supporters were at the Lee County Justice Center Friday evening to do just that.

They talked about what the ruling means to the LGBT community, now that gay marriage is legal in all 50 states.

Friday’s decision overturns Mississippi’s 2004 Marriage amendment that passed with 86 % of the vote, banning same sex marriage.

Marriage licenses have been issued to same-sex couples today in at least eight states where gay marriage was previously banned, in Alabama.
