Video: Heritage Hills Alliance Taps McCoy as New President

TTUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A new president is on board at an organization that helps educate locals and tourists about the history and culture of our area. Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau President Neal McCoy was elected president of the Mississippi Hills Heritage Area Alliance .
He was elected Tuesday morning during an annual meeting at the Mississippi Hills Exhibit Center in Tupelo.McCoy says there are many opportunities for people to visit and discover the rich heritage and history of North Mississippi.
“The number one focus is to attract people to our area, and then from that we want to extend their stay, we want them to take as long as they can here in the Heritage Area, we want them staying overnight, visiting our attractions, visiting in our shops and eating in our restaurants and spending that tourism dollar here.”
McCoy will serve as president for one year. The Hills area is one of 49 Heritage areas across the country.
