Video: Heart Patient Thanks Medical Team That Saved his Life

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – It was a celebration of life Tuesday at a reunion of a patient with the medical team that saved him.
After a severe heart attack, Terry Robertson was treated by Dr. John King and kept alive using new technology.
Baptist Memorial Hospital uses the Impella developed by Abiomed, the world’s smallest heart pump. Today the patient and medical team share their experience over a celebratory lunch.
Robertson’s was able to thank everyone from first responders to technicians in the cardiac cath lab for saving his life.
“Today we’re celebrating victory and we’re talking about a patient who was very sick having their heart attack who got some advanced technology and advanced device that certainty contributed a great deal to their survival.”
“It means a lot to me because it kind of makes me feel like they’re trying to make me to be a hero, but I’m not the hero. The hero is these guys and the people that invented this pump they put in me that saved my life.”
Robertson is very thankful for the health care team’s work.
