HAMILTON, Miss. (WCBI) — Some North Mississippi residents are showing their appreciation for each other, while having some fun.
On Saturday, the city of Hamilton brought back its first Appreciation Day since 2011.
The event kicked off with a 5K walk and run in the morning, with activities throughout the day inside the gymnasium.
Organizers say many people benefit from this event.
“This is a way that we support the community,” said organizer Jean Robinson. “We give 75 percent back to the school, and the remaining 25 percent goes back into the community non-profit groups, fire departments, library, and other groups that might have a need.”
Hamilton Appreciation Day started in 1990.
