Video: Hackleburg Remembers Tornado Lost and Survivors

Hackleburg, Ala. (WCBI) – April 27, 2011 is a day the town of Hackleburg, Alabama will never forget. On Friday the community came together to remember the lives lost in a deadly tornado that day. 18 people died in the EF 5 twister, and most of the town was destroyed.
Friday’s memorial included a walk through downtown to the site of the monument that bears the name of those who died.Speakers not only spoke of those who are gone but also gave thanks for the miracles of that day and the blessings that have followed in three years of rebuilding.
“So it’s real meaningful to people that they survived this storm and God has been blessing us ever since…Just about everyone has a miracle story about how God helped us go through this.”
On Saturday the town hosts its 3rd Annual Neighbor Day Festival.
