Video: Hackers Breach Community Health Systems’ Firewall

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — 4.5 million patients’ personal information was stolen from Community Health Systems, which operates Gilmore Memorial Regional Hospital in Amory.
China-based hackers have gained access to names, Social Security numbers, physical addresses, birthdays and telephone numbers.
Community Health Systems operates 206 hospitals across the United States.
Gilmore released a statement saying, in part, some patients who were seen at Amory Physician Practice Management over the last five years were affected.
The healthcare provider operates 12 hospitals in Mississippi.
Patients are being notified by mail and Community Health Systems will offer identity theft protection to victims.
