Video: Governor and Potential Presidential Candidate Speak at Parkgate Pregnancy Clinic Fundraiser

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -Potential presidential candidate Doctor Ben Carson helps raise money for Parkgate Pregnancy Clinic this evening in Tupelo.

Carson is known for being the first surgeon to separate conjoined twins. Another part of his story, is being raised by a single mother in Detroit. Governor Phil Bryant introduced Carson.

Bryant also touted his stance on abortion.

“This is the safest state in America for an unborn child, we want to keep it that way. We’re working on a bill now in the Mississippi Senate that will be going to the House that will actually record the number of injuries or deaths we have from an abortion. People don’t realize a lot of times a botched abortion in the state of Mississippi, or other states could mean the life of the mother or the child.”

Carson is expected to announce by May whether he will be a candidate for president.
