Video: Girl Injured in Artesia Fire

ARTESIA, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County firefighters are investigating the cause of a blaze that injured a young girl late Friday night.

The fire destroyed a home on Thompson Road in Artesia.

Artesia Mayor Jimmy Sanders tells WCBI a young girl and her older sister were home at the time of the blaze.

They were able to get out, but Sanders says the younger girl still suffered burn injuries, and was taken to the hospital. He says she is doing well.

Nothing in the home could be saved.

Fire officials still don’t know what caused the blaze.
