Video: Gilmore Memorial Med. Center Now Under New Ownership

AMORY, Miss. – (WCBI) Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center officially has a new owner.

Franklin Tennessee based Community Health Systems officially takes control of the Amory hospital today as part of a $7.6 billion buyout of Health Management Associates.

Gilmore CEO Allen Tyra says completion of the sale will have no impact on local operations or health care contracts. What it does is make Gilmore part of the largest for profit hospital group in the United States.

Community Health Systems owns or operates 206 medical centers in 29 states. More than 135,000 people are employed by the company
