STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) -Some Oktibbeha County residents found themselves in the Guardhouse at the Starkville National Guard Armory Wednesday.
But it was all for a good cause. The charitable arrests were part of Versatile Event Planning’s Jail and Bail Fundraiser.
The group is organizing an Honor Flight for World War II and Korean War Veterans.
The special vets will visit six war memorials in Washington D.C. In May.
“I plan to take this trip with our veterans, and I do have a DVD showing some of the Honor Flight veterans who have gone to D.C., and seen their reactions. And they were so appreciative of having the opportunity.”
Wednesday’s goal was $1,000.00 to help cover the cost of the flight.
