TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s as old as the city of Tupelo, and its roof needs fixing.
The Dog Trot House at the Oren Dunn museum was built in 1870, the same year Tupelo was incorporated.
And this weekend the Oren Dunn held a Rockabilly at the Dog Trot House Festival to raise money for the roof, which will cost about $19,000 to repair.
There was also a petting zoo at the festival.
Organizers say the Oren Dunn is striving to preserve historical places like the Dog Trot House so that residents of the community can be reminded of what the town was like nearly 150 years ago.
They say the home was moved to the Oren Dunn Museum in 1984.
