Video: Former Tupelo Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Winner Makes Return Visit

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – It was an evening of oldies but goodies at “The Ice House” in Tupelo.  Elvis Tribute Artist Ben Thompson performed some Elvis songs, along with hits by other rock legends.

Thompson is in town for “Elvis Week” and he will head to Memphis later this week for festivities there.

Thompson, who is from Great Britain, says Elvis’ popularity continues to grow throughout Europe.

“There’s so many Elvis shows there, but also, Elvis himself, I mean, his record sales and everything in the UK and Europe, you can go anywhere in Europe and they know Elvis, and it just goes to show how many people he really touched,” Thompson said.
Thompson won Tupelo’s Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist competition two years ago.  He turned 23 Monday and celebrated it with his friends at “The Ice House.”
