VIDEO: Five Sent to Hospital in Monday Afternoon Wreck; No Life-Threatening Injuries

LOWNDES CO., Miss. (WCBI) – Five people are being treated for non life-threatening injuries following a two-car wreck on Highway 82 West Monday afternoon.

It all happened around 3:00 PM, between the 45 and 45 Alternate exits, about seven miles from Columbus.

State troopers say a Lauderdale County man was west-bound when he suddenly decided to cut through the emergency turnaround and turned in front of a Chrysler driven by a Starkville woman.

She was not able to stop and hit the Cadillac.

That driver and four passengers were all carried to the hospital. The driver of the Cadillac faces a series of traffic charges including no license, no insurance, and speeding.
