NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) -Some area kids are learning some healthier habits this summer. Boys and girls ages six to nine spent the morning at the Union County Fairgrounds in New Albany for the “Kids in the Kitchen” program. They made snacks that are healthy and tasty and learned to make fitness a fun part of their lives.
Organizers hope to help the youngsters make healthier choices.
“So many of our kids these days are not getting outside. They are not getting the physical activity. They’re not eating the right foods to live a healthier life just to feel better and to grow up healthier so that’s our goal today is try to teach these just to make healthier choices.”
The free program was sponsored by the MSU Cooperative Extension Service.
