TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The smell of catfish, french fries and hushpuppies was in the air in downtown Tupelo.
The eighth annual “Fish ‘n’ Fixins” took place in front of JBHM Architecture. The event is a fundraiser for the American Red Cross.
Participants got a fried catfish plate with all the trimmings and all of the proceeds helps the Red Cross take care of needy people throughout our area.
“We stay so busy in North Mississippi, especially assisting families who have lost homes to fires, helping families make that connection when they need to get a loved one home from the military so these funds will help us continue to provide services right here in North Mississippi.”
More than 300 pounds of catfish were fried for the lunchtime benefit.
