Video: First Responders Honored In Lowndes County

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss (WCBI) – They put their lives on the line every day to save others.  Friday, first responders were honored at the 10th annual Salute to Lowndes County’s Finest luncheon.

Law enforcement officers, paramedics, firefighters, 911 dispatchers, and relief organizations were recognized for their bravery and sacrifices.

The event was also a time to honor the lives of first responders who died on September 11, 2001.

Volunteers from local businesses organized the luncheon and have established a recovery fund to help first responders and their families in the event of a personal emergency.
