TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Coaches and athletes across Northeast Mississippi are honored for displaying character on and off the field.
The first ever “Breakfast of Champions” was held at Tupelo’s Orchard Church. The event was sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and it was an opportunity for FCA to showcase how the ministry is making a difference in lives of public school students.
Also, it was a chance to give out FCA Champion Awards to students, and Coach of the Year Awards to two area coaches.
” FCA has been that outlet, I guess, you could say that I could always go to and serve the Lord. I’ve been immensely blessed by different ministry projects we have been able to do, we have gone out and served our community.”
“We do pictures with Santa Claus and instead of reading “The Night Before Christmas” we teach them about Jesus being born, and it’s not me, I let my kids do it and they read that story to them.”
Each week, about 3,500 students in schools throughout our area attend FCA groups, known as “huddles. ”
