VERONA, Miss. (WCBI) – Farmers had an opportunity to talk about needs in education and research with a number of experts. The annual Producer Advisor Council meeting took place at the Lee County Agri-Center in Verona. That meeting is sponsored by MSU’s North Mississippi Research and Extension Center.
It provides producers a chance to learn about the latest research and provides scientists an opportunity to share their latest findings with farmers.
“They’re giving us input into what they would like to see so we take that and try to implement that into next year or two, depending on long the study takes, to give them information they can take back and use.”
Information gathered at previous meetings has led to the extension service hiring a sweet potato expert and an equine expert.
