Video: Farmers and Cattlemen Learn more about Forage Options

MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY, Miss. (WCBI) -They were having a “Hay Day” at Mississippi State. The MSU and Oktibbeha County Extension services hosted a forage production workshop for farmers and cattlemen. The focus was on native grasses and warm season hay and feed grass varieties.

Participants took a tour of State’s warm season forage and variety testing area. And they got a chance to see demonstrations of the latest in hay equipment.In most areas of Mississippi, livestock producers using a combination of forage crops for grazing and hay can feed their herds with fewer outside feed purchases.
