Video: Family Reunion Turns into Welcome Home Party for Soldier

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) –

It started out as a reunion, but manifested into something much more.The Walker family held a small family reunion today in the Courtyard Mariott hotel in Columbus.

However, the mother of Staff Sergeant Miranda Cullen Lee was in for a shock when a small family reunion instantly transformed into a welcoming party.Cullen, who had been stationed in South Korea made a surprise entrance after phoning her mother simply to say hello, but then stepped inside to reveal her presence to the family.

“I got to surprise all of my family. Certain members helped me coordinate to get here and surprise everyone. My mom had no idea; my son had no idea. My cousins and my aunt pretty much helped me.”

Lee was stationed in South Korea for 11 years. She worked in a command center, assisting with emergency notifications for the base.
