Video: Families To Enjoy Monday Night Football, Pizza And Smoke Detector Inspections
TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Five Tupelo families will enjoy pizza, Monday Night Football and they will also have their smoke detectors checked by professionals.
October is “Fire Prevention Month” so the Tupelo Fire Department, Little Ceasar’s Pizza and the Tupelo Public School District have joined forces to help make sure families are safe and full of pizza.
Starting this coming Monday evening, firefighters will deliver pizzas to five families, check to see if they have working smoke detectors, and install the devices if they are needed, all free of charge.
“Chief Walker reached out to us and asked if we wanted to partner with him and the fire department to provide smoke detectors to some of our families and also provide them with some pizza, so we’re grateful to Little Ceasar’s and the fire department for that,” said Anna Guntharp, assistant superintendent for TPSD.
“We can come into their houses, you know, they are going to get a pizza, they will get a smoke detector if they don’t have a working smoke detector and they will have peace of mind knowing the smoke detector they may have is working and operational,” said Tupelo Fire Chief Thomas Walker.
The pizza and smoke detector giveaways will take place each Monday night in October.
