COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – We know electric bills will increase during our current heat wave., but if you want your lawn to survive the summer, expect a higher water bill.
It can be a struggle to keep your flower beds and gardens healthy, especially when temperatures are soaring near the century mark. Drooping plants and brown leaves are signs your plant needs water.
“If you don’t have an irrigation system, it’s really good to keep a sprinkler running on your lawn. The best time to water is later in the evening not at the prime heat of the day. So you either want to do it early in the morning or later in the evening and that’s the best time for it to absorb the water.”
Another thing to remember, don’t drown the plant because consistently wet soil can also damage the plant.
