TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Thanks to a grant and some dedicated volunteers, the courtyard of a Tupelo elementary school is getting a much needed facelift.
Some fifty volunteers converged on Lawhon Elementary school to update its courtyard.
Lowes Home Improvement provided a $5,000 grant to purchase the materials, and volunteers are providing the labor.
They are mostly faculty parents and students of Lawhon.
These volunteers are completing the work started a few years ago with a grant from Association for Excellence in Education.
They say the courtyard update is going to be an ongoing project throughout the school year.
