Video: East Webster H.S. Flag Thief Arrested

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Deputies say he took Old Glory from East Webster High School and fell into a lot of trouble. The Stars and Stripes theft was caught on surveillance video.

William Austin Rawls has been arrested and charged with grand larceny.

Investigators believe the flag was taken back to a wooded area near the school but it hasn’t been located. Deputies aren’t sure why the U.S. flag was taken.

Donations are being taken to replace it at the high school. Rawls is being held on a 15 thousand dollar bond.
