Video: Defense Begins Its Case In Second Capital Murder Trial For Joshua Clark

FULTON, MISS. (WCBI) – The defense begins presenting its case in the second capital murder trial for a man accused of killing his 4 month old daughter eight years ago.

Joshua Clark accepted a plea agreement during a 2010 capital murder trial.  Clark is accused of killing his 4 month old daughter, Kylie, in January 2008.

However, Senior Circuit Court Judge Thomas Gardner vacated Clark’s plea, on the grounds of ineffective counsel.

This afternoon, Clark’s attorney, Jim Waide, called several witnesses who work at the Itawamba County Jail.   Each witness said they had never seen any violent tendencies in Clark and they considered him an honest man.

The jury trial will continue Monday.   The jury is being sequestered during the trial.
