VIDEO: Deadly Intersection Under Review
OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A deadly intersection in Oktibbeha County has the Board of Supervisors concerned.
This past weekend, an Idaho man died after crossing over the intersection of Poorhouse Rd and MS Highway 25.
This is the third accident in a week at this intersection.
Supervisors feel like the intersection should have street lights installed and possibly a traffic light as well.
Currently, there is a blinking stop sign but the board feels that isn’t enough.
“We’re very concerned. We need to do something in that area to make people more aware that they’re coming up on another intersection, so we’ve actually talked about putting actually getting our engineer to look at it and deciding what we need to do. I potentially see putting a light there, some type of blinking light or stop light just to get some lighting in the area just to make it safer,” says District 4 County Supervisor Bricklee Miller.
MHP is still investigating the crash that took place this past weekend.
