Video: Culinary Camp Kicks off on Columbus Campus
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -Cooking at camp used to mean a can of beans or maybe some S’mores cooked by a campfire.
But some campers at Mississippi University for Women are going gourmet.
This is the first week of Culinary Camp at the Columbus campus, and Monday some second and third graders were taking on the brunch menu.
There’s a lot of fun in the kitchen, but the kids are also getting a dash of education.
“We do. We learn fractions on the first day. We try to learn the difference between a teaspoon and a half a teaspoon…and there is a big difference. And, hopefully, we will not have any mistakes, and we actually get to see what happens when we do not measure correctly.”
Monday’s menu included quiche, biscuits and pancakes.
