Video: CSI: Campus Campers Take Science Lessons to the Field

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – A summer camp at the University of Mississippi has kids taking their science lessons into the field..

Campers are spending part of their summer learning about crime scene investigation and using math and science to analyze the evidence.

All facets of evidence gathering are being covered, but there is one area that is gaining the most attention.

“I’m very interested in forensic science, but I want to learn how to like to take DNA and analyze it to figure out to trace back to where it goes to.”

“Looking forward to the DNA and learning about the blood and the differences between the bloods and everybody’s DNA.”

Campers investigated a mock crime scene and they analyzed that DNA evidence following the class lectures.
