VIDEO: Cookies with Santa in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- The holiday season is Starkville got off to picture perfect start on Sunday. Sunday guests were greated at the Greater Starkville Development Partnership Center by ole Saint Nick. The GSPD was hosting its’annual Cookies with Santa Claus fundraiser. For ten dollars kids of all ages could have their picture taken with Kris Kringle, with all the proceeds benefiting the United Way of North Central Mississippi. Hundreds stood in line from ten to two. GSDP Director Heath Barret says he hope this event leads to more people visiting and shopping in downtown Starkville. Barret says the event has exploded in recent years because parents get an early start to posting the holiday pics on Facebook and other social media.
