VIDEO: Columbus Shooting Update
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- The Columbus Municipal School District Resource Officers are now handling the investigation of the shots fired at the Columbus High football game.
Our cameras did catch two people being detained immediately following the incident.
Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton tells WCBI that 2 people were initially arrested but only one was charged
The chief says the department is assisting in the investigation and that the school resource officers are handling the report.
When asked about the incident, Superintendent Phillip Hickman tells us that the district is assisting where they can.
The incident started in the parking lot Friday night over an argument and 2 shots were fired into the ground
No one was hurt.
