Video: Columbus Sales Tax Collections Up

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -Columbus is bringing in sales tax revenues in numbers that haven’t been seen in more than 20 years.

Columbus’ Chief Financial Officer Milton Rawles says that for the third month in a row, and the sixth month in the last fifteen, sales tax revenue numbers are the highest since 1989.

The city also brought in over $167,000.00 more than this point last year.

The numbers are measured from the first three months of the new fiscal year.
