COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – What was once just an empty park building has become a safe haven for Columbus children.
The Columbus Police Department is sponsoring a summer reading program at Sims Scott Substation every Tuesday afternoon at two.
The program is designed for kids with nothing to do during the summer, or if they’re unable to go to summer camps.
Local librarian Quay Austin volunteers for the summer reading program. She reads to children and encourages them to ask questions.
