COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- In honor of Veteran’s Day, Columbus Middle School hosted Take a Vet to School Day. The national program was developed by the HISTORY channel to link veterans with students nationwide. William Bunton retired Air Force said, “It’s just nice to talk and be encouraging to young people because as I said in the closing remarks that I hope I was half as good to the military as it was to me. It’s a very rewarding life. You meet a lot of fine people good assignments and its an important job.” Columbus Middle hosts the event every year with the organizational help of Cable One. This year 5,000 schools in all 50 states were expected to participate.
