VIDEO: Columbus City Leaders Sworn-In

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus city leaders were sworn in Wednesday.

The mayor and six councilmen took their oaths at the Trotter Convention Center.

One new face is joining the board this term and replacing former Councilman Marty Turner’s seat for Ward 4.

The other five councilmen are looking forward to what the future holds, including long-time councilman Charlie Box.

“I appreciate the citizens out there giving me another opportunity and showing confidence in me for four more years, and I think I still have something to offer to the city and look forward to working to accomplish that,” said Box.

A reception took place after the ceremony.

The next city council meeting is Thursday night.
