VIDEO: Columbus Church Marks Holiday Milestone

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- First United Methodist Church in Columbus reaches a milestones in its’ service to the community.  The church is celebrating 100 consecutive years of holiday giving through a program called White Christmas.  For the last century, after a retelling of the Christmas story in the sanctuary, members of the congregation gather and began packing food bags to give to those less fortunate this holiday season.  First United Methodist member Rebecca Taylor says the church is very much into helping this community and that it’s important to remember those who may go without a holiday meal this Christmas.

The church worked with United Ways Helping Hands Ministry and Trinity Assisted Living Facility to identify individuals and families in need.
