Video: Columbus Assault Suspect Stabbed and Hospitalized

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus police say a man defends himself by stabbing an attacker. Police were called to a report of a stabbing in the 22 hundred block of 15th Avenue North, just after six Tuesday.

Investigators tell WCBI Marquez Parks and another man walked up to unidentified victim and started beating on him outside of a store.

That’s when the victim pulled a knife and cut Parks.

Captain Fred Shelton says Parks remains in the hospital with a collapsed lung.

Charges are expected to be filed against Parks.

Police are reviewing surveillance video.
