Video: Columbus Amphitheater Bids Come in High Prompting Possible cuts

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A proposed Columbus Amphitheater hits a million dollar snag… bids came in higher than anticipated, now the city is looking for ways to lower costs on the entertainment venue.

Plans call for the Senator Terry Brown Amphitheater to cost about $3 million.

Certain items could be taken out of the plans to lower costs or bid out to multiple contractors to lower the price tag.

Once it is complete, it will seat 3,500 people on the banks of the Tenn-Tom.

The facility will be on what’s known as the island across from the Riverwalk.
