Video: Classic Cars and Rock-n-Roll in Elvis’ Hometown

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -Car enthusiasts from all over the country and Canada are in our area for an annual auto show. WCBI’;s Allie Martin has more from Tupelo.
Thanks, I am here in the parking lot of the Bancorpsouth Arena, behind me, more than 800 vintage cars, it’s all part of the annual Blue Suede Cruise.

This event gets bigger each year, it’s an opportunity for auto enthusiasts to come together and check out each others  cars it’s also an opportunity to get an up close and personal look at a lot of vintage cars.

On display this year, an extremely rare Cadillac limousine from the 1930s.

“This is a 1930 V 16 Cadillac Limo that is a 1933 Cadillac LaSalle Limo. It seems to be growing year after year and I think what’s coming behind these is muscle cars, you see a lot of muscle cars but you just don’t see these, these are pretty rare and you just don’t see them, a lot of people walk up to me and say I can’t believe, I’ve never seen cars like these before.”

The Blue Suede Cruise runs through Saturday evening, here at the Bancorpsouth Arena. There;s a lot of auto related merchandise for sale, there are snacks available and there will be a big parade Saturday morning. For now, we’ll send it back to you in the studio. ”
