Video: City Seeks Dismissal of Councilman’s Suit – Countersues

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The City of Columbus wants the courts to dismiss Councilman Marty Turner’s lawsuit and have him repay the city.
Motions were filed in response to Turner’s lawsuit after his city-issued cell phone was disconnected by Mayor Robert Smith.

The counter lawsuit claims the Ward 4 Councilman admitted to using the phone as a hotspot for area teenagers, making it an unlawful donation.

An amount is not listed in the suit.

Attorneys say the phone was shut off due to death references on social media by Turner and grossly misused for city-related purposes.
