Video: Church Takes Wednesday Service To The Community

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – A Tupelo church takes its Wednesday evening service outside .

Members of Cross Pointe Ministries had games for kids, 500 hot dogs, chips and drinks, along with a worship service at Gumtree Park.

It is part of an initiative called “Reach Week.”

“With our society, community and all the challenges we’re having right now, we really need to do some positive things so we’re trying to get out of the church four walls, and trying to have church without walls around us so we’ve invited the whole community to come out, a lot of brand new people are here, a lot of first time visitors to our congregation are here, that’s very exciting, so we’re just trying to make people feel at home,” said Cross Pointe Pastor Kevin Rea.

On Thursday Cross Pointe members will help at Habitat for Humanity homes, and on Friday, they will give keychains to police officers at several parks in the city.
