Video: Charlie Brand Honored as MaxPreps Athlete of the Month

CUMBERLAND, Miss. (WCBI) — Being our WCBI Student Athlete of the Week was just the tip of the iceberg.

East Webster senior Charlie Brand was honored on Wednesday as the MaxPreps National Athlete of the Month. He was given the award and a letter man’s jacket by former NBA star Raja Bell and U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sargeant Kenny White.

Brand plays three sports: football, basketball and tennis and succeeds in all three. Outside of athletics, the 4.0 GPA student is a member of the East Webster student council and the Beta Club. He also is active in his church and participates in events with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Brand continues his hot start to the season at quarterback for the Wolverines football team. He and East Webster will take on Eupora in our Carl Hogan Toyota Game of the Week this Friday.
