ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – No charges are expected to be filed in Monday’s bomb threat made to the Monroe County Jail.

Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says police tracked the phone call back to a house about a mile away from the jail.

He says at the house, a group of teenagers used a prepaid cell phone to call and make the threat to the jail.

Sheriff Cantrell says the callers were trying to pull off a prank.

” It was a very hectic day. There was some kids pranking around, called. We didn’t know it at the time, guess they thought they’d try to scare us. I dont know what they were thinking.”

Two bomb dogs came to the jail Monday as a precaution after the call.
