COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A recent year-long inspection results in good marks for Columbus Air Force Base.
And that bodes well for the base’s future, its commander told a Columbus business and civic group today.
Colonel John Nichols said the base got good marks in almost every category in the top to bottom inspection.
He said the process helps keep the almost 3-thousand airmen and civilian workers on top of their game and always looking for ways to improve.
Those combined with community partnerships to upgrade fitness, housing and other facilities for airmen help safeguard the base long-term against future budget cuts.
“The state of the CAFB, what’s been going on in terms of our recent unit effectiveness inspection. That inspection went very very well. So I want to pass on that bit of good news. Also, want to talk about some of our civilian and military partnering.”
Nichols spoke to the Columbus Exchange Club.
