TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Residents in Tupelo who have a question about their water or electric service, or who want to report a loud barking dog, can text concerns to city staffers.
C Spire and the City of Tupelo have teamed up to offer a “Text Your Question” program for residents.
C Spire’s wireless unit has provided an iPhone and complimentary cell service so residents can send text messages to the city on any issues or concerns. The city’s communication’s director will have the phone and will forward messages to the appropriate department heads.
“Obviously this is geared more towards the people that utilize text messaging, so your younger citizens, more tech savvy citizens, anyone that does text messaging can utilize this, send us their text and we will get it to the right department,” said Tupelo Mayor Jason Shelton.
That number is 662 808 text or 8398. The pilot program will be reviewed in six months.
