Video: Bond Set For Tupelo Shooting Suspect

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Bond is set at $300,000 for a Tupelo man who shot two people Thursday evening, took the victims to the hospital, and was arrested after he had called a local cab company for a ride.

Sixty six year old Randall Hardin is charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping.  Police say Hardin had been drinking all day, and was arguing with his girlfriend throughout the day.

Thursday evening, Hardin is accused of confronting his girlfriend, and another female, outside of a store on North Gloster, forcing them at gunpoint into a car.

Authorities say the two victims attempted to run from Hardin at the Tupelo Senior Apartments, and that’s when Hardin shot both victims.

Hardin transported the victims to the hospital, and later he was arrested as he tried to get a ride from a local cab company.

“You know, again, we take this very very seriously, again, the judge sent a message on a 300 thousand dollar bond and we are very lucky we have two victims and not two people that are dead,” said TPD Deputy Chief Allan Gilbert.

Police say one of the victims has been released from the hospital.   Hardin has no prior criminal history.
