Video: Blue Cross Blue Shield Helps Tupelo School Get Fit

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A $26,000.00 grant will help build a new playground at a Tupelo school. Blue Cross Blue Shield made the donation Tuesday at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School.

Now, students will have pull-up bars, climbing poles and monkey bars to play on. The “Project Fit America” grant application started last year when Blue Cross contacted the school.

TCPS believes promoting fitness is just as important as promoting academics.

“Fitness today we realize is more and more important in the lives of our young people, and I think along with eating better, which has been promoted throughout America, fitness is the other side of that scale that will benefit our students to live a long productive life”

The area will be used every day by physical education classes.
